I decorated the wreath on the kitchen door.
I made a paper strip shamrock to hang from the kitchen light. Here is the link if you want to make one.
The girls decorated some hats.
There has also been lots of fiddling and step dancing practise going on.
Johanna has been the entertainment during the intermission for the last few years at the Irish Play in Pembroke. It's a play that's organised by the Knights of Columbus to raise money for local charities. It's always a lot of fun and a big success. Today they were doing their 'warm up' performance at a seniors home. Johanna would be fiddling and step dancing again this year.
We were just about to go out the door when Sophie announced that she wanted to go on the stage too. So, I told her that 'we would see' and I changed her clothes into her black dress pants and a green shirt....'just in case'.
When we arrived, they were thrilled that Sophie wanted to step dance for them. But I was the nervous one. She said that she was going to do the steps that she had been taught...she started lessons in September. Usually she just makes up the steps as she goes....she is quite good at that. So, this was going to be her first official public performance of 'real' steps.
While Johanna did some last minute practising in the hall...
Sophie handed out the programs to all the guests.
Here is a little peek at their performance.
That was AWESOME! Great job, Sophie and Johanna.
ReplyDeleteWe wish we could be there for the St. Patty's Parade, but we already had our March visit to Douglas.
Will you post pictures and video from the parade?
