The Fishing Derby

Yesterday was the annual fishing derby on the Bonnechere River.  We registered the kids and then headed to our spot on the river.  We spent many days fishing here last year....but the water was much lower and the current was much weaker last year. 

It just wasn't a good spot to fish.

So, Jack took a walk along the side of the river and found a place that every time he would cast his line he would reel in a fish.

 

 

The only trouble was all the weeds along the shore!  He kept getting snagged and he soon had a broken line....a lost bobber....it just wasn't good.

 

Then Terry had an idea....

 

 

It worked....but they didn't catch any big ones.  It didn't really matter because they all got prizes anyway.

I think we should get a boat for next year.
